A concert featuring Chinese folk songs composed by renowned songwriter Wang Luobin (1913-1996) will be held Aug. 31 in Shenzhen.

Wang specialized in composing songs based on the music of various ethnic minorities in China. He graduated from the Music Department of Beijing Normal University in 1934.

He devoted his life to composing, collecting and revising western Chinese folk songs. In all, Wang wrote seven operas and composed 700 songs.
