Oddly-shaped Car Accident Compared to Huawei’s Logo

Collision described as a "chrysanthemum"

Traffic Chaos

A rather unusual four-car collision in Chengdu, Sichuan is attracting a great deal of attention among Chinese netizens.

Seemingly defying the physics of car crashes, each vehicle at the accident site on Yizhou Boulevard formed a perfect half-circle, which the Chinese News Network described as a chrysanthemum.   The odd descriptor led one commentator to ask, “Why is this (accident) described as a “chrysanthemum”?

Fair question. Although pretty, “chrysanthemum” is a widely-used euphemism in China for “anus”. Netizens however had another theory, and took to the interwebs asking “How much money did Huawei spend? Just look at this advertisement…“. Another said bluntly, “They crashed into the form of a Huawei logo.
