Located at the OCT Loft, Heavens Books is a cafe and bookstore disguised as a live music venue, or a live music venue and cafe disguised as a bookstore (depending on how you look at it). Either way, Heavens offers plenty of both, with local acts performing regularly to enjoy with a good book or two. While most of the books are in Chinese, there are a few English paperbacks and a decent selection of vinyl LPs and CD's. 

Overlooking the waterfront in the new OCT Bay Entertainment District, Kyoku spares no expense on decor. Expect quality Japanese cuisine (though be prepared to pay for it). The menu runs the full gamut of Japanese cuisine including teppanyaki, sushi, and a good selection of sake.

The fourth entry in the growing McCawley's empire. Much like the other pubs, expect a distinctly Irish style and decor, good selection of draft beer, and pub grub.

The Village Bar & Grill offers a bit of everything for everyone. There's some Tex-Mex (Tuesday night is taco night where a taco will run you 16RMB), Pizza (Wednesday night is Pizza & Beer night where a pitcher of Tiger will run you 68RMB with the purchase of a pizza), and BBQ (Thursday night is BBQ night where all BBQ is 10% off).

There is also a decent selection of cocktails and draft beers.

Midtown Cake offers a variety of cakes and pastries such as tarte au fromage, and mille feuille. You'll also find a decent selection of teas and coffees to accompany your tasty delectable(s).

Le Saint-Tropez is a French resto-bar offering French staples such as steak-frites, and rack of lamb, as well as some tasty desserts, including crepes. In the evening, Tropez transforms into an impressive bar and lounge with plenty of draft beer choices, cocktails, and local Djs.

The drink menu at Choppers Saloon proudly proclaims "Serious drinkers welcome", which pretty much tells you everything you need to know: at Choppers they take their boozing seriously. For the non-drinkers, there's a decent BBQ menu including grilled spare ribs, chicken, steaks, burgers, and an all-night breakfast menu. They also have a pool table, and sports on the TV.

Open breakfast, lunch, and dinner, The Feast has a little bit of everything to accommodate everyone. Enjoy everything from Western brunch favourites, to Cantonese dinners. There is also a weekend dinner buffet.

Located in the Sheraton Guangzhou Huadu Resort, Yue Restaurant is fine dining, Cantonese style. Expect authentic dishes such as braised chicken in a clay pot, and steamed Timian Town tofu with black mushrooms. In addition to the main dining room, there is also an outdoor dining section with a view of the lake.

Though the name and decor are inspired by Aussie origins, Gold Coast's menu is stacked with English favourites such as steak & kidney pie, minced beef and onion, and jacket potatoes served with baked beans. On the weekend, look for a full-on English Brekkie. As for beverages, this is where the Aussie origins ring true: plenty of Australian wines by the bottle, and, of course, VB beer. Happy hour daily 17:00-19:00, buy 1 drink get 1 free.

Spread over two floors, the sheer scale of Momo's is impressive. The first floor consists of a huge selection of fresh baked breads, pastries, and desserts. On the second floor you'll find a well decorated lounge and eating area to enjoy the baked goods with a good selection of teas and coffees.

Boca Cafe serves a variety of hot and iced beverages such as Spanish Iced Coffee, and Peppermint Iced Coffee. As for food, you'll find sandwiches, soups and salads.

A popular chain in both Shanghai And Beijing, Element Fresh is now open for business in Guangzhou. Known for salads, sandwiches, juices and smoothies, Element Fresh also offer a variety of dinner main courses such as fresh fish, risottos, pastas, steaks, and Asian set menus.

The popular Mexican Cantina opens in Guangzhou, and offers all of the features patrons of the Shanghai location have enjoyed for sometime: dancing, excellent cocktails, salsa, and coming mid June, a full food menu. Expect Mexican and Tex-Mex favourites such as burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, and quesadillas.

This Bavarian restaurant and watering hole, serves a variety of char-grilled German favourites, including: smoked pork, roasted pork knuckles, wurst's and prime beef steaks. As one would expect from a venue called Wunderbar, there is also a decent selection of German draft beers.

A French crepe restaurant popular with students from nearby Guangzhou University.  Emma's Crepes serves up a wide variety of crepes, including nutella and banana crepes.

This popular restaurant specializing in Chaozhou cuisine, offers a variety of seafood and vegetarian options such as marinated blood clams, congee, and white eggplant served in black bean sauce.

Formerly of COVA in Hong Kong, head chef Gianni Lacalendola serves authentic, and classic Italian & Mediterranean dishes.
